In case you need advice related to the rules of good scientific practice you can also contact the Ombudsman of RUB responsible for these questions:

Ombudsperson

The Ombudsman of RUB-RS can provide personal counselling and informal assistance in dealing with questions and concerns related to your PhD situation. If you cannot easily come up with a solution or understanding of a situation or have more questions than answers the Ombudsman is most willing to explore options, give personal orientation and discuss possible ways to go. In addition, the Ombudsman can provide information about other counselling services at RUB that might be helpful to you. The Ombudsman will not advise you in any research-related issues but can help you with concerns related to your situation as a doctoral fellow at RUB.

The Ombudsman acts independently, confidentially, neutral and informally and can be contacted by all members of RUB-RS. Of course you can contact the Ombudsman without committing to further disclosure or any formal resolution. All contacts and contents are treated strictly confidential and you can also choose to remain anonymous.

In 2008 the Executive Board of the Research School decided to establish an Ombudsman. The person in charge acts independently and treats all contacts and contents strictly confidential. The Ombudsman does not have to report about any personal case or contact to any other body or member of the Research School or the university.

The current appointed Ombudsman of the Research School is Dr. Ursula Justus. You are most welcome to contact her in case you need personal support in a protected and confidential environment.

You can contact the Ombudsman by email: ombudsman-research-school@rub.de
