International Career at RUB
Research School PLUS offers different programmes for outgoing and incoming junior and experienced researchers.
Outgoing RUB-Postdocs - Gateway Fellowship
Research School PLUS offers a bridge financing for those who just obtained their doctorate from Ruhr-Universität. The Gateway Fellowships (GFs) grant a funding period of up to 9 months to provide excellent early career researchers with the opportunity to go to outstanding international host institutions for preliminary studies or preparing a postdoc project. In this way, a GF fosters the development of your research profile and enables you to collaborate with the world’s best in your field of interest.
Incoming Junior Researchers
Incoming International Junior Researchers - Research Explorer Ruhr
Once a year, Research School PLUS calls for applications for the Research Explorer Ruhr (RER) programme, inviting international junior researchers who are interested in exploring the research landscape in the Ruhr Area and Bochum in particular.
If you are considering a postdoc at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, but are not sure if it is the right fit for you, RER offers you the opportunity to come to Bochum for a 2-week stay to explore postdoctoral opportunities at an institute that fits your research profile.
Incoming Experienced Researchers
Incoming International Experienced Researchers - VIP Grant
Research School PLUS fosters lasting cooperation in graduate education between Ruhr-Universität and other international institutions. The Visiting International Professor Fellowship is awarded to outstanding international scientists, who contribute to graduate training at RUB on a regular basis (by teaching, scientific advice or direct supervision). VIP fellows are supported with a travel grant of 12,000 Euro to support their visits to Bochum.
International Mobility Grant
The International Mobility Programme (Int.Mo.P.)
The International Mobility Programme of RS PLUS aims to support Postdocs up to two years after the completion of their Ph.D. to go to important national and/or international conferences in their fields.
