Planning a doctorate  

The Ruhr-University Research School would like to support you to realise your PhD project successfully right from the beginning. But before you contact us it is important that you have identified a faculty or an institute at which you would like to realise your PhD and that you have found a supervisor at the Ruhr-University for your PhD project.
Please try to answer some basic questions together with your supervisor in advance:

• What is my main research interest?
• Which formal and individual requirements do I have to fulfill for realising my PhD?
• What do I expect from my PhD?
• Which formal matters I have to consider at the beginning of my PhD?
• How can I finance my PhD project?

Important information concerning these questions is provided by the doctoral regulations of the faculties.
