Research

The Ruhr-Universität is one of the strongest research universities in Germany. Its internationally recognised collaborative research, the promotion of its young scientists and the ability to quickly implement far-reaching reforms form the basis for its good international reputation.

It zealously set about implementing its future concept “Research Campus RUB” which was positively assessed in the first Excellence Initiative and funded by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Stiftung Mercator with a total of thirty million Euros. The RUB has created the structures for excellent, interdisciplinarily networked research. By further expanding the structure of the Research Campus RUB, we aim to further increase the international appeal of the RUB. Individual projects of single researchers are just as important here as the interdisciplinary collaborative research. With excellent research and teaching and its active guiding principle (“universitas”), the RUB is set to become even more competitive and attractive to outstanding students and researchers from around the world.
