Course description: The workshop Advanced Professional Communication focuses on different roles in communication (leading communication or taking part in communication) and supports your communication skills with regard to leadership skills and responsibilities.
The highly training-oriented concept helps you to further advance your communication techniques and prepares you to take over responsibility for different communication situations like communication in project teams or larger working contexts like negotiations with external partners or moderating conferences or decision making processes. This task may involve the ability to lead teams, to co-ordinate the group’s workload, to moderate meetings and decision-making processes and to communicate with different partners. The challenge is to successfully communicate in hierarchical as well as in lateral positions (in which team members don't necessarily report to you). Competences that allow to cope with various “barriers” in difficult communication contexts are a special focus in this workshop. In detail the workshop deals with:
• communication in groups (hierarchical and non-hierarchical) • moderating team meetings and discussions • communication in decision-making processes • motivating people • negotiating • acting in conflict situations
