This workshop is particularly helpful for researchers who would like to gain basic knowledge and first experience in professional projectmanagement. You will apply strategies and tools to exemplary projects from industry and research.

 

Course description

Aim of the workshop is to provide basic professional knowledge and first practical experiences in project management. By taking part in the workshop you will get to know the most important tools and basic techniques for a professional project management. You will apply them to exemplary projects from both: industry and research.

 

In detail you will work on:

  • basic idea of project management: different kinds of projects
  • project analysis and organization
  • project planning: models of conception, conception decisions, project plan
  • planning resources and risks 
  • reporting and controlling within the project
  • replanning: communication for success
  • operating projects: how to imply unexpected events; risk management
  • scheduling with milestones: dynamic time scheduling of the work packages
  • working together in project teams

Trainer:
Mathias Hofmann (SHS CONSULT GmbH) holds a university degree in education and a master of business consulting. Since 1996 he works as certified trainer and coach for project management, team training, leadership skills.
