There are many questions if you start looking for a job in a company the first time. The series of seminars “Find a Job in Germany´s Industry” gives an overview of most important topics related to the job search specifically for international PhDs who are looking for a job outside academia. This series of seminars consist of three consecutive one-day modules. You have to register for each of them separately.


Course description

In the module “Job Search & Application Training” you will learn how to target your search for future employment, and where you can look for vacancies. There will also be explanation and practice about the meaning of typical German phrases in job advertisements. In the second part you will understand how to write your cover letter and CV, and how best to adapt your application to the job offer. You will get application examples and advice for your certificate selection. Moreover you will receive many important hints for your application period.

After the seminar and on the following days you can receive an individual feedback for your CV. If you want to make use of this please prepare and update your CV and bring a hard copy into the seminar.



Heidi Störr owns the career consultancy “Push Your Career”. Of particular interest to her, is the support of international specialists who want to find a job in Germany. She regularly conducts group seminars for academics searching for employment. In addition she advises individual customers during their job search and acts as a consultant for organizations that support foreign employees and companies that want to recruit more foreign skilled employers.
