|Registration: Optimizing writing strategies for publishing research in English (good to advanced English skills) - all|
Venue: FNO 01/171
This three-day workshop is particularly helpful for researchers who would like to increase their writing productivity, learn to revise methodically, and develop a stronger reader focus.
Excellent scientists need excellent data, but they also need to be able to successfully communicate the results and significance of their research to their peers in the community. Writing good scientific papers is hard work, even for many experienced researchers. Being aware of the criteria which scientific papers must meet and managing the writing process efficiently can make the task easier.
In this workshop, you will learn about the structural and language norms for scientific papers published in English. You will also be introduced to writing strategies and tools that will help you to methodically draft your own texts, pinpoint their strengths and weaknesses, and revise them effectively.
Themes and activities will include:
Note for participants
Prior to the workshop, you will receive a “Call for Texts” requesting you to submit a sample of your own academic writing. This writing sample will provide the basis for peer and trainer feedback during the workshop.
Also, during the workshop, you will be invited to write a further text, in order to put the skills practised to use. For this text, you will again receive trainer feedback on language and style.
Requirement concerning English language skills
