The funding of the PR.INT research school allowed me to the travel to one of the biggest conferences about laser and photonics technology in the world: The CLEO US 2023 in San Jose, California. Here I could present my latest research, which is a world-record single-cycle THz source from a lab-based setup in terms of average power. It was not only nice to present my results, but I also appreciated the exchange of ideas with other people from my community and got a broader view what are currently the "hot topics" in photonics. The discussions in the coffee breaks allowed to exchange e-mails for possible future collaborations. The connected trade fair, with a selected number of companies from the photonics industry, allowed also to discuss newest products. Furthermore, I want to highlight that this was my first visit to the United States of America, which gave me, besides the scientific perspective, also a cultural perspective to the country. |
