| Report | The COSPAR is an international conference on astrophysics and space research. I presented recent work on the transport of cosmic rays in turbulent magnetic fields. Particle transport due to scattering of magnetic field inhomogeneities is often described by Brownian motion, or so called normal diffusion. In the Heliosphere there is evidence for so called anomalous diffusion that cannot be characterized by Brownian motion. In my talk at COSPAR I presented a method to solve a fractional Fokker-Planck equation that describes superdiffusion with stochastic differential equations. The method is applied to the transport and acceleration of cosmic rays at shocks. |
