| Report | Thanks to the support of the IRB grant of the RUB Research School, I was once again able to spend two weeks in Sardinia during September of 2024. Among other things, I was able to carry out archaeological prospection work in the areas of Fluminimaggiore, Domusnovas and Muravera, which will form a data basis for important case studies within my doctoral thesis on pre-industrial mining in Sardinia. I was also able to use my stay to initiate a collaboration with the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at the University of Cagliari. This cooperation offers me good networking opportunities with Sardinian researchers on the one hand and the opportunity to collect and analyse geological and mineralogical samples on the other. Towards the end of my stay, I also had the opportunity to take part in the eighth instalment of the ‘Festival Internazionale Civiltà Nuragica’ conference in Orroli, where I was able to exchange ideas with numerous scientists working in Sardinia. |
