In June 2025, I presented my doctoral project at the International Academy of Practical Theology (IAPT) conference in Saskatoon, Canada, hosted by the Saskatoon Theological Union and St. Thomas More College. Actively participating in the conference proved highly beneficial to my doctoral project. Through a poster session, I shared insights from my fieldwork on the Oberammergau Passion Play and received constructive feedback from theologians worldwide. The interdisciplinary feedback – ranging from liturgical theology and homiletics to intercultural and interreligious dialogue – helped refine my interpretive frameworks. These conversations offered new perspectives on performance as a theological and intercultural practice. Encounters with theologians from around the world have paved the way for future collaborations with theological seminaries in Montreal, New York, and Vancouver. This international experience has significantly broadened my professional and personal horizons. In my doctoral project, I combine methods from theatre studies and empirical social research. My research focuses on the performance of religious content, with a particular emphasis on Passion plays. I explore the experiences of both performers and audience members. https://www.ia-practicaltheology.org/ https://2025iapt.wixsite.com/home |
