| Report | Thanks to PR.INT, I was able to visit Stockholm University for two months and participate in the development of the Sweden Camera. Seven Sweden Cameras will be deployed during winter 2025/26 at the South Pole inside a 3000 m deep glacier. This will occur during the expansion of the IceCube Neutrino Observatory, the IceCube Upgrade. I performed tests on the camera's zoom, focus, exposure, illumination, self-reflections, video, and picture-taking capabilities. I helped in providing a precise characterization of the camera and developing optimization strategies. I will likely participate in the remote monitoring of the camera deployment after this work. I made new and valuable contacts within the research group in Stockholm. I gained important hardware expertise that otherwise would have been completely absent from my PhD curriculum. I am grateful for having been given this precious opportunity. |
