Thanks to the support of the RUB Research School and PR.INT Conference Travel Funding, I had the opportunity to present at The XV Latin American Workshop and Symposium on Anaerobic Digestion held in Fortaleza, in front of guests and experts from around the world (Brazil, Russia, Uruguay, Chile, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, among others). I presented my work on electrochemically integrated bioreactor systems (EIBs), titled “Coupling power-to-methane electrolysis with wastewater-derived nutrients: towards decentralized CO₂ capture and bioenergy recovery in a circular economy.” It was a great experience that allowed me to gain knowledge I will apply in the continuation of my research project. After the conference, I took part in a technical visit to the H2V Hub located near the Port of Pecém. I also continued my activities with an academic visit to the Embrapa facilities in Fortaleza, where Prof. Dr. Renato Leitão showed me ongoing research, and we had a fruitful discussion on biohydrogen and bioelectrochemical systems. Finally, I concluded my stay by participating in a DAAD panel held at the Federal University of Ceará, where I shared my experience as a Latin American scholarship holder living and studying in Germany. |
