| Report | The goal of my PhD project is to analyze the functional properties and assembly of iGluR heteromers. In this context I want to analyze the stoichiometries of different glutamate receptor subunit combinations using the single-molecule pull-down (SiMPull) technique in combination with a photobleaching step analysis. During my research stay, I was able to learn this unique technique in the lab of a world-leading expert in this field, Prof. Dr. Joshua Levitz, who has already successfully extended this technique to various glutamate receptors. Overall, I was able to learn the necessary tools to establish this method in our lab, gained new ideas for my PhD project, and could open the doors for further cooperations. |
