Course Description

Poster sessions are an integral part of almost every scientific conference. Their purpose is to highlight research results, visualize them, and stimulate discussion. To draw your audience in, you need a crystal-clear content structure, a text format optimized for best legibility and well-chosen graphics. And above all, you need to think well through how to organize your research content on the required paper or digital poster format.

Basic rules of graphic design and layout techniques will help you to present your work in a visually well-structured and compelling way. The training shows you how to present your research efficiently and provides enough time to put directly into practice what you have learned.

Contents

  • Essentials of visual communication: main message, target group, objective, intended impact, purpose
  • Content structure – preparing text and images
  • Basic design principles: typography, colour, proportional balance, visualization, composition, etc.
  • Corporate Design

Participants are asked to bring the material (texts, pictures, graphics, etc.) of their current research project or recently designed posters as well as to keep PowerPoint (or a comparable software) ready on their laptops.s
