After participating in the SfN-conference in Chicago, I stayed at Prof. Takeo Watanabe's lab at Brown University (Providence, RI) for about six weeks, where I participated in a project investigating the possibility of using a visual perceptual learning paradigm as an intervention in a psychiatric disorder. Furthermore, I expanded my methodological knowledge using fMRI to image changes in the brains of both patients and control subjects, which will be of great help in my future research career. The whole experience was thoroughly positive, both personally and scientifically. |
