My international project took me across the United States. First I visited the lab of a world-famous memory-research-group, lead by Charan Ranganath in Davis, CA. Here, I was able to present my work, gain valuable feedback on my analyses and I was able to spontaneously speak with other well known researchers. Furthermore, I felt extremely welcomed by the local PhD-student community. Subsequently I attended a conference in San Francisco, allowing me to strengthen previous contacts I had made. Finally, I left for Boston, where I spent a week in the lab of Maureen Ritchey, where again, I felt very welcomed, and was able to learn new skill critical to the last part of my PhD work. |
