|Registration: Wr_07: Visual Abstracts: Create Immediate Understanding of your Research - all|
Workshop in presence (will be offered online if necessary)
This workshop is particularly helpful for researchers who would like to complete their skills in scientific writing by learning how to draft and realise visual abstracts for scientific journals.
Improtant notice: We offer this workshop as a presence workshop to specially support you by directly interacting with the trainer to work on your individual visual abstracts. For sure you will work in a room ensuring at least 1.5 m distance. The workshop will follow all relevant distancing and hygene regulations. We will inform you right in time about all details.
Do you want to bring your complex research findings into a single picture for others to understand? That´s what visual abstracts are for! More and more high-level journals already use them as a substitute for the classic written abstract.
This workshop provides you with the basics of graphic design and hands-on training on how to visualize the essence of your next academic publication. The workshop aims to introduce you to the basics of graphic design (composition, technical tools, software) and will offer you guidelines how to develop a visual abstract of your own research. You will learn how to define a visual concept for your research and how to realise it – graphically as well as technically.
So, let´s be creative! Please bring your own laptop, graphics software you feel comfortable with (can even be PowerPoint) and outcomes of your research work, that you would like to work with. During the workshop you will start working on your own visual abstract.
