|Registration: Visual Abstracts: Create Intermediate Understanding of your Research - all|
Venue: FNO 01/135
This workshop is particularly helpful for researchers who would like to complete their skills in scientific writing by learning how to draft and realise visual abstracts for scientific journals.
Do you want to bring your complex research findings into a single picture for others to understand? That´s what visual abstracts are for! More and more high-level journals already use them as a substitute for the classic written abstract.
This workshop provides you with the basics of graphic design and hands-on training on how to visualize the essence of your next academic publication. The workshop aims to introduce you to the basics of graphic design (composition, technical tools, software) and will offer you guidelines how to develop a visual abstract of your own research. You will learn how to define a visual concept for your research and how to realise it – graphically as well as technically.
So, let´s be creative! Please bring your own laptop, graphics software you feel comfortable with (can even be PowerPoint) and outcomes of your research work, that you would like to work with. During the workshop you will start working on your own visual abstract.
