This workshop is particularly helpful for researchers who are currently dealing with preparing, writing or revising a manuscript to be submitted to an international peer-reviewed journal.


Course description: 

This course provides a hands-on approach to writing a paper for an international peer-reviewed journal, and introduces you to all the relevant steps involved in successful paper preparation, writing, and editing. It helps you to understand the explicit and implicit rules of the peer-review and revision process and to learn how to deal with reviewers and editors. Numerous training tasks help you to draft individual sections of your manuscript, and you are given concrete advice on how to overcome the various hurdles involved in the writing and publishing process.


This course increases your understanding of what is expected in each manuscript section, and how to write these sections efficiently. It provides you with answers to your individual questions and gives you clear instructions on how to complete and submit your manuscript.

Dr Gunther Tress has worked as researcher and lecturer at various universities and research institutes in Europe for more than ten years. He specialises in peer-reviewed publishing, academic writing, scientific communication, and presentation skills. He has high-level experience as Editor of an international peer-reviewed journal published by Elsevier and an international book series for Springer. He also serves on the editorial boards of several journals and regularly reviews papers for international journals.
