I got funding from the research school plus to
participate in the methods course “Analyses and
Models in Neurophysiology” in Freiburg in October
2013. It was organized by the Bernstein Center
Freiburg (BCF) and the Neurowissenschaftliche
Gesellschaft (NWG). My supervisor recommended
this course to me, because the participated in this
course when he was a PhD student. Thus, I had
great expectations which were not disappointed.
The course consisted of four different topics, each including a lecture in the
morning and an associated exercise in the afternoon. This combination was
very effective and helped me to apply the knowledge gained in the theoretical
part to my own data. Over all, the five days in Freiburg were a great experience
for me. I got to know new methods which I can apply in my own PhD project
and a lot of researchers which apply the same methods like I do and are faced
with similar problems.
