The financial support of the Research School PLUS enabled my participation at the 1st
EFCATS-CNRS European Summer School on Catalyst Preparation: Fundamental Concepts
and Industrial Requirements, taking place in Vogüé / France with 112 participants from
academia and industry. By partaking in the various courses I have been able to obtain deeper
knowledge in the preparation of heterogeneous catalysts, which is an important field in
catalysis research and relevant to both academia and industry. Furthermore, it constitutes a
major part of PhD project. Apart from the practical courses, this summer school organized 12
lecture sessions that covered various topics ranging from the fundamental and applied
concepts of catalyst preparation up to the industrial requirements for large-scale synthesis. At
multiple occasions I seized the opportunity to have personal discussions with senior scientists
from global enterprises in catalysis industry and notable professors, as well as post-docs and
fellow PhD students. So it was possible to talk about opportunities as a post-doc or about a
career in the industry. |
