History of Social Movements

Stefan Berger has been Professor of Social History and Director of the Institute for Social Movements at Ruhr-Universität since 2011. He is also Executive Chair of the Foundation History of the Ruhr and Honorary Professor at Cardiff University in the United Kingdom. He was selected as a scout of the Henriette Herz Scouting Program in 2022 and comments as follows:

This is an outstanding opportunity for our institute. I look forward to welcoming proposals from international postdocs who would like to join us in. If you are passionate about studying diverse left-wing social movements, the impact of nationalism and the memory of deindustrialization, you will find at the ISB many passionate colleagues keen to exchange ideas and discuss cutting-edge research.
