Your Research Career at RUB
Consider Bochum for Your Next Career Step!
[This page is available in English only as it addresses international researchers]
There are various ways to put our university on your resumé, no matter if you are a doctoral researcher, an early or advanced postdoc, or even a senior researcher. You can apply for open job positions or work with us on a funding proposal allowing you to conduct research with your own grants:
Our university continuously advertises vacancies for positions across all levels on campus. They are listed at the job portal stellenwerk Bochum. Find out more about the versatile facets of RUB as employer.
However, it might be the case that the advertised positions do not fit your research interest. In our experience, it is a very successful way to acquire your own third-party funding with our help. This comes with two positive sides: you can independently conduct the kind of research you are committed to 100% and coming on your own prestigious grant might enable you to get a tenure-track position at RUB.
Our Funding Program for International Researchers
From sponsored short-term visits to a longer-term career at RUB, this is our approach in a nutshell. Our portfolio offers short-term visits from two weeks to six months to let you explore research options, exchange ideas, getting to know each other, and, most importantly, initiate and develop funding proposals. All of them are open to all research fields and open to all career levels. Cross-disciplinary approaches are explicitly welcome.
