The Ombudsperson at RUB Research School provides personal counseling and informal assistance in dealing with critical or complicated questions and concerns related to your doctoral situation. The Ombudsperson will not advise you on any research-related issues. For example, if you lack understanding or a solution to a given situation, if you have more questions than answers or if you are facing a critical or conflicting situation, the Ombudsperson offers individual support. In a personal meeting you can explore options, facilitate your personal orientation, and discuss possible ways for a viable solution. In addition, the Ombudsperson can provide information about other counseling services at RUB that might be helpful for you.

The Ombudsperson is neutral, acts independently, and can be contacted by all RUB doctoral researchers. The Ombudsperson is not oblidged to report on any personal case to any other body or member of Research School or the university. All contacts and contents are treated strictly confidentially and you can choose to remain anonymous. The Ombudsperson is insitutionalized by the regulations of RUB Research School.
