Georg Foster Fellow Dr. Fatemeh Mamashli

Fatemeh was part of the 2020 Research Explorer Ruhr online cohort and re-visited Prof. Jörg Tatzelt and his team with a Research Assistantship to write on grant proposals. We are very happy that Fatemeh was granted a prestigious Georg Forster Research Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Originally from Iran, she came to RUB after a postdoc year at the University of Istanbul and will focus on her research on proteins for the next two years. Here is what she has to say about us:

RUB Research School provided me with two short-term invitations, which together helped me a lot in finally getting the Georg Forster Research Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. In addition to providing an excellent networking opportunity, Research Explorer Ruhr introduced me to the different funding lines offered by Germany to foreign researchers. The three-month Research Assistantship offered me the chance to work in Prof. Jörg Tatzelt’s lab and to find a friendly and supportive network of young and motivated researchers in the lab.
