Preparing for Appointment Procedures

RUB would like to accompany you on your way to an appointment and help you prepare systematically for the application processes, no matter if junior, tenure-track or tenured professorships. In exchange with other researchers and experts, our workshops with individual coaching provide insights into the explicit and implicit requirements and standards in appointment procedures. With our offers, you can get prepared and develop your individual strategies for your appointment.

In our workshops you can work on the following topics:

  • strategic preparation for the application for a professorship
  • general conditions and procedure of appointment procedures
  • design of application documents (cover letter, CV, research and teaching concepts)
  • preparation for the appearance before the appointment committee (lecture, teaching sample, committee interview)
  • conducting appointment negotiations

In the InFokus workshops, you can develop knowledge and strategies for appointment procedures together with experts and other researchers in one-day seminars. The seminars are complemented by individual coaching sessions, in which you can work on and reflect on your individual concerns and strategies with the experts. The InFokus workshops are offered under the umbrella of the Research Academy Ruhr:
