Skills and Competence For a Successful Doctorate
The end of your doctorate is approaching? How does a disputation actually work and what comes after the dissertation? During our interdisciplinary Herbstakademie, you can prepare for the final phase of your doctoral thesis and for the time afterwards.
What Does Herbstakademie Offer?
The program of the three-day online event includes half-day workshops on topics such as presenting, time management and resilience. Work on how to present yourself and your research convincingly or explore how you can calmly reach your conclusion. The workshops also focus on possible career paths, job search and networking inside and outside academia.
Who Can Participate?
The Herbstakademie is aimed at advanced doctoral researchers of all subject fields of Ruhr-Universität Bochum, TU Dortmund University, and the University of Duisburg-Essen. Language of the event is usually German. The workshops are offered partly in English and partly in German. (The event titles and workshop descriptions indicate the event language.)
