Pure Mathematics

Prof. Dr. Karin Baur has been Professor of Pure Mathematics at Ruhr University Bochum since 2024. Prior to that, she held professorships at ETH Zurich, the University of Graz, and the University of Leeds. Her research on algebraic and geometric structures has been supported by prestigious grants, including an SNF Professorship and a Royal Society Wolfson Fellowship.

Combinatorial representation theory provides progress at the diverse interfaces of algebra with geometry and topology. We are looking forward to host outstanding researchers in our young and international research team.

She was selected as a Scout of the Henriette Herz Scouting Program in 2025. For more information, please refer to her website.
