Report | The 1st Int. Symposium on Biotremology was held in Italy in July 2016. This symposium aims to bring together researchers studying vibrational communication. Although knowledge about the vibratory signals in stingless bees has advanced considerably during the last decade, we are still far from a complete understanding. Particularly studies on African stingless bees are strongly underrepresented. I contributed to the conference program by giving a talk on my research findings in African stingless bees. Furthermore, the participation enabled me to meet leading scientists in the field of biotremology. It was great to present my results as well as build and strengthen supportive networks. |
