Report | Most research on stingless bees is conducted in the Neotropics. Consequently, the most research expertise can be found there. I visited the labs of Michael Hrncir (UFERSA, Mossoró, Brazil) and Christiano Meneze (EMBRAPA, Belem, Brazil). Both have long time experience in stingless bee research and focus on stingless bee communication and the multimodal information integration in the context of foraging as well as artificial queen rearing. During my visit I could get valuable feedback about my research from these experts and got some new ideas that I will integrate into my work. I met a number of researchers, learned new techniques, gave talks and benefited from the researcher’s experience. https://abelhasmossoro.wordpress.com/ |
