| Report | My doctoral project scrutinizes the South-South socio-cultural remittances consequences in the migrants’ home communities. In order to do so, I have conducted a qualitative field research for more than three months in Bangladesh. This empirical study was mainly consisted of in-depth and informal interviews, as well as personal observation with migrants left behind families, friends in rural Bangladesh, returnee migrants from the global South and key informant interviews. This field work would have been difficult to undertake without funding from the RUB Research School Plus. I am very thankful for their kind support, and looking forward to the second part of my field work. |
