| Report | We used fluorescent in-situ hybridization to image a memory trace in the medial temporal lobe over half an animal's lifetime. PremRNA of the immediate-early gene Arc served as a marker for neuronal activation. We found a persisten recruitment of CA1, but not CA3 in memory retrieval. This segregation had not been shown before. |
