| Report | Thanks to the Research School Plus funding I could participate in the 3rd World Conference on Humanitarian Studies taking place in Istanbul, Turkey from 24th to 27th October 2013 at Kadir Has University. For the first time I have attended a big international conference and presented a piece of my Ph.D. research to academics and practicioners from all over the world. It was aunique experience to discuss my ideas and approaches in such a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment and to get to know research and thoughts of other researchers and professionals engaged in related topics. Furthermore, to attend such a renown international conference with agroup of academic collegues from RUB was an asset in regard to make contact with collaborating researchers from other universities and come to know current themes in Humanitarian Studies from other disciplines. This experience definitely helped me to further academic presentation and networking skills, and was an important step for my international research career. www.khas.edu.tr/en |
