Report Broaden your mind, expand your knowledge: Taking part in an international conference is always a great opportunity to contextualise ones own research as well as being inspired by new ideas and approaches. The financial support by the “RUB research school plus” allowed me to participate in the joint conference of the International Association for the History of Religions (IAHR) and the European Association for the Study of Religions (EASR), taking place at Hope University, Liverpool in September 2013. As my paper had been accepted for presentation within a collaborative panel with colleagues from the University of Bern and the „Akademie für Weltreligionen“ (Hamburg), I got the chance to present the findings of my empirical work to a larger and international audience and receive some encouraging feedback. Additionally, I could attend a variety of panels and keynotes related to my research questions and catch up with the international state of research to some very specific topics affecting my PhD thesis and upcoming publications as well. Additionally, the whole conference was characterised by a very inspiring atmosphere: During coffee breaks and dinner it was easy to get in contact with some internationally well known scholars of religion, and to discuss my own research in a very enjoyable way. Altogether, it was a great stay which really gave me a thrust of motivation for the last months of writing my thesis as well as new ideas for subsequent research and an academic network to stay in contact with. www.iahr.dk
