| Report | I was invited to present results of my PhD thesis by the group of Ursula Jakob from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI, USA. They are leading in redox biology and therefore, supported by RUB Research School PLUS, I had the opportunity to discuss my work with stated experts. I got a lot of helpful advices for increasing the scientific value of my PhD concepts in general and, additionally, several more detailed suggestions gave me new ideas for more useful experiments in the laboratory. Furthermore, I got in contact with different people from the group and we had fruitful discussions about their and my projects. It was fantastic to meet scientists with this great expertise in the research field I'm working on in Bochum. This gave me some new perspectives and affected me concerning the decision what I will do after finishing my PhD thesis. In summary, the trip to Ann Arbor, MI was a great experience and I'm glad that I was enabled to do that.' www.umich.edu |
