Report I went to the annual meeting of the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) in Washington, D.C., USA. Besides hearing talks and looking at a vast variety of different research projects I also presented a poster. My poster showed the results of a study with airplane pilot trainees I did the previous year. The aim of my project is to examine the function of the basal ganglia, a brain structure responsible for selecting and controlling response alternatives (i.e. action control). In the airplane pilot trainees I looked at the neural mechanisms that underlie the superior action control in this group.
