| Report | The funding of the RUB Research School PLUS allowed me to participate in a very specialized workshop embedded in the annual conference of the german ”Gesellschaft f¨ur Medizinische Informatik, Biometrie und Epidemiologie (GMDS)” in L¨ubeck. The workshop was focused on Biomedical image- and signal processing and tries to close the gap between two separated approaches to medical data processing. The very interdisciplinary audience, ranging from medical researchers and physicists to computational scientists, represented an ideal community to present and discuss my current project. The community gave valuable feedback to my presentation, due to the different research fields new perspectives opened up and helped me to push forward my project. Aside from my own project the conference offered inside knowledge on current developments in medical technology, such as new approaches to ultrasound imaging, employing absorption of laser light in different tissue types. I was also able to acquire new contacts, important for my current research and possible future projects in my field of interest. www.gmds.de |
