| Report | In July 2014 I attended the 7th International Conference on Bridge Maintenance, Safety and Management (IABMAS 2014), which took place in Shanghai, China. Researchers and bridge engineers from many different countries came together to share their experiences and research work on various topics of bridge engineering, like monitoring, life-cycle assessment, bridge management, strengthening and many others. At the conference I presented my current research results to other researchers in a mini-symposium about bridge monitoring and predictions. Within the conference I had contact to many other scientists and engineers and had good discussions about my work. Furthermore, I listened to some really interesting presentations that gave me new insights and new ideas for my future work. It was a really interesting and great experience. |
