| Report | Thanks to International Realization Budget-funding I visited the exhibition Raffaello e l’eco del mito in the Accademia Carrara in Bergamo, which was fruitful to my PhDproject on several levels. First, a section was focused on Raphaels teacher, Pietro Perugino, an artist crucial to my work on panel painting in the late 15th century. Furthermore two works of his, that I examine closely in my dissertation , a Santa Maria Maddalena and a San Sebastiano, were contextualized with other half-figure depictions from the same period. I was not only able to compare panels that normally wouldn’t even be in the same country, I was also able to see less accessible works from private collections, Russia or the United States. www.lacarrara.it |
