| Report | Due to its location in the hills of the Marche the small town of Urbino has always been hard to reach, nevertheless the dukes of Urbino from the family Montefeltro managed to make it a center of power and the arts in late 15th century. Thanks to International Realization Budget-funding I was able to realize one day of field research on site to examine the works of art the Duke acquired in their original settings. Since my PhD-project focusses on artworks in the domestic context of the late 15th century in the North of Italy, this was very helpful in order to better understand the difference between the various artistic centers in the north of Italy. https://www.palazzoducaleurbino.it/ |
