| Report | Thanks to the International Realization Budget-funding I was able to continue my series of research stays in Italy with a visit to Venice and other cities in the Veneto like Padua, Vicenza, Treviso and Castelfranco. Given the particular artistic characteristics of each area in Italy it’s crucial to visit not only the centers of these areas – like Venice – but also the smaller towns in the Hinterland, in order to understand how idea’s spread. In the several collections I visited, I could collect several objects relevant to my PhD-project, furthermore I was able get a better understanding of the specific decoration of churches in the Veneto and the depiction of Saints in this particular context. |
