Report When conducting research, it is always a good idea to present and discuss results to other researchers who are active in the same area. A perfect opportunity for such discussions is an international conference where researchers come together to talk about their latest results and ideas. Thanks to the financial support of RUB Research School, I was able to travel to Seattle, WA, USA and present first results of my research at the International Conference on Cloud Security Management. It was an inaugural conference which marks the beginning of a newly started series of conferences which will be held once a year to provide a forum for researchers in this new field. The presentation I gave was based on my paper on information security quantification in cloud computing which was accepted for publication and presentation in a double blind review process. Being able to present my results in front of an international audience of experts was a great experience and I established numerous relations to other researchers from around the world. The discussions led to new ideas for further research which will have a lasting impact on my subsequent research activities. Overall, the trip was a total success, on a professional as well as on a personal level.
