Report The presentation and the resulting discussion of research results at international conferences are two important tasks for the personal and scientific development of a PhD student. In addition, the conference participation allows to get into contact and to stay in contact with other researchers for a scientific exchange, which ideally influences the quality of the participant's research. Furthermore, it can give new impulses on the own research activities. My work was funded within a joint research project until 05/2013. For PhD students without an existing third party funding, the RS+ provides a unique way to support own research activities. Within the framework of RS+, I have received conference funding twice, which allowed me to present my newest research results to international experts at the 2013 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (APS) and at the 2013 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Workshop Series on RF and Wireless Technologies for Biomedical and Healthcare Applications (IMWS-Bio). This gave me the opportunity to get into contact with the international research community in my field of research, independent from my institute's available funds. Furthermore, I received the best student paper award for my contribution to the IMWS-Bio. The process of applying for funding is an excellent preparation for the challenges I will have to deal with in my future work and I hope to go on publicizing my research results with help of RS+. www.ieee.org
