Report | The financial support by the RUB Research School PLUS made my participation on an international conference in China in September 2013 possible. The conference I participated was the ICTPPO (International Conference on Tetrypyrrole Photoreceptors of Photosynthetic Organisms). This is the most important conference on the research field I am working on. This year it took place in Wuhan in Central China. The stay was very exciting and fruitful. The conference gave me an opportunity to socialize and meet researches from all over the world. By getting the chance to present my recent results in an oral presentation I was happy to gain the experience of talking before an international audience. This experience enriched me much. I met also some others PhD-Students and received some information about advantages and disadvantages of working in different countries. So I was able to get an idea how the first years after obtaining a doctoral degree could look like. Last but not least it was very exciting to get insights into the culture of a foreign country: China - which is so much different as Europe! Altogether my stay in China was a very constructive and fruitful experience. |
