| Report | I attended the IPDPS conference and the PhD forum in Phoenix from May 19th until May 23rd. The conference offered a special program for PhD students where I was able to present my PhD project as one of 51 accepted PhD students. The PhD Forum offered workshops on scientific writing and presentation skills. Furthermore several discussion panels were held where participants from industry and from academia talked about their experiences and answered questions regarding research possibilities and application procedures in their respective companies or in academia. During these workshops I was introduced to several researchers from my field of research. The senior researchers gave valuable feedback regarding my initial results and pointed me towards other papers and research groups which I will contact in the near future. I also have spoken with my fellow PhD students and established several contacts which can potentially benefit both sides through exchange of information. www.gatech.edu |
