| Report | My doctoral studies comprise the investigation of glacier cave systems which can be found under several glaciers as a result of several mechanisms such as meltwater runoff, geothermal activity, temperature or density gradients. Since my basic research area includes the Cascade Volcanic Arc in the United States, I primarily focus to analyze the interaction between glaciers and active volcanoes through glacier cave research. During my research stay in Oregon in summer 2019 I had the possibility to investigate the glacier caves of Mt. Hood´s Sandy Glacier. This expedition was really important to record several changes the glacier has gone through and to find and read out our data loggers. ohdgrotto.caves.org |
