Report Allowed by funding granted by Research School Plus, I attended the 9th International Congress of Dipterology in Windhoek, Namibia. Within the frame of a special symposium, addressing dipteran/amphibian interactions, I was invited to give a presentation on my PhD project. The project aims at identifying levels of host specificity of acoustically oriented eavesdropping frog-biting midges (Corethrellidae) in breeding frog communities in the Old and New World tropics. Taking part at the ICD9 conference allowed me to further establish contacts and to coordinate future research directions. Combining the conference stay with an additional field trip provided valuable data for my research.
