Report | Paradoxical Positionings of Unaccompanied Minor Refugees in the Host Family Setting. Using Relational Hermeneutics for the integration of multiple methodical perspectives. With this title I hold a presentation focusing host families for unaccompanied minor refugees as new emerging and negotiated social spaces, which have to deal with conflicting requirements. On the one hand, a meeting on even terms is created in which host parents and unaccompanied persons adapt to each other and the guardians advocate for the rights, equal access and status of the minors into the receiving society. On the other hand, host families are not only because of the supportive role embedded in societal discourses, which they refer to. https://www.isa-sociology.org/en/conferences/forum/porto-alegre-2021 |
